Friday Favourite

I love this quote from the iconic Audrey Hepburn. I discovered her in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and like most of us, I fell in love with her. This quote holds a special place in my heart as it confirms my own thoughts.

I learned English when I was six years old and soon after, immigrated to Canada from India. I developed a habit of breaking down words and pronouncing them in parts. As a speed reader, I often scan a sentence or phrase. When I saw the word “Impossible,” I could only see “imPOSSIBLE.” I fell in love with this word. What I read and interpreted was “I AM POSSIBLE.” When someone told me it was impossible, I read it as “I am possible” and asked myself, “How can I make it possible?” This play on words made the situation or task fun and playful, thus giving me the energy to find my solution, remove roadblocks, and face my fear.

When someone tells you that your idea is “impossible,” I want you to tell yourself, “I’m Possible,” and ask, “How can I..?”
